Vasiliki Ap. Kakosimou has graduated from Athens Law School (2002) and from National School of Public Administration (2005). She has a Master on public management of public organizations from the University of Peloponnese and she is a PhD candidate in Harokopeio University. Her articles have been published in scientific journals and she has participated as presenter in many scientific conferences. She has worked in the Public Sector (2005-2013 Ministry of Labour, 2013-2025 Ministry of Migration and Asylum), being appointed as Head of Unit (2016-2020) and Director (2021-2025). She was the Primary EL National Contact Point between Greece and the European Union Asylum Agency (EUAA) (2021-2025) and she has represented the Greek Ministry of Migration and Asylum in several networks (IOM, EUAA, UNHCR, GDISC) and in official meetings with EU+MS representatives. She was an EUAA Trainer in many LMS modules (2014-2025) and a trainer in the Training Institute of E.K.D.D.A.(2023-2025). She was member (2021-2023) and President (2024-2025) of the Secretariat Council in the Ministry of Migration and Asylum. In 2023-2024 she has co-chaired with Italy the 10th & 11th Sessions of the UNTOC Smuggling of Migrants Working Group. Since April 2025 she is the Vice-President of E.K.D.D.A. She speaks English and French fluently, and Spanish and Turkish in an intermediate level. She comes from Syrrako, Ioannina. She is married and has two girls.
